This course is for you if you already know some Swedish. During the test lesson we will talk about some basic things about how the course works, and we will begin with unit 9.

We have chosen to use the book Colloquial Swedish from Routledge. In this course, unit 9 – 17 will be discussed.

To learn a new language, you must put effort in it. We try to put you in a language bath. The ideal is that you are surrounded by your new language 24/7. That’s not always possible, but as often as you can use your new language. Read Swedish books, newspapers, and magazines. Because you are just in the beginning learning Swedish its easy readers and news written in easy language the best. You can also look at Swedish films. You probably need English subtitles in the beginning, but you will hear the Swedish language. How much you do of this will most certainly affect the pace of your language acquisition.

Each week we have a lesson around one chapter or “unit” as they are called in the book. Before the lesson it is wise to read the whole unit. Maybee you shall learn the glossary in the book and try to understand the grammatical rules. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask them at Classroom.

The course plan is as follows:

•             You get 10 group lessons for free

•             Apart from the introductory lesson, each lesson revolves around a chapter or unit.

•             In addition to the group lessons, each participant receives two individual lessons with the teacher. If you want individual lessons, you can book them for € 24/hour.

•             Each participant will get a Classroom account.

•             You get exercises via Classroom. Please respect the time limits for when they are to be handed in.

•             We urge you to create a schedule that holds Swedish studies every day. Half an hour a day means three and a half hours a week. If you double that, of course, you will learn Swedish with even more depth.

First lesson: 23th of May 7 pm CET

If you follow this course plan and work as hard as you can, we promise you a fast track to a usable Swedish language. And, yes, it is the same as with all things you do at school, the more you work the better it will turn out.
